Georgia taxpayers must be pre-approved by the state to take advantage of the Foster Child Organization Credit. By completing an application, your request will be submitted to the Georgia Department of Revenue in the order in which it is received through their website.

The contribution limits below are in effect from January 1 – June 30. Effective July 1, limits are no longer in effect if the $20 million funding goal has not been met.

  • Single Individual or Head of Household: Up to $2,500 per year
  • Married Filing Jointly: Up to $5,000 per year
  • Individual Owner of S-Corp, Member of a LLC, or Partner in a Partnership: Up to $5,000 per year
  • C Corporation, Trust, or Pass-Through Entity electing to pay tax at entity level: Up to 10% of Georgia income tax liability per year
